Lael Echo-Hawk (Pawnee) represents tribes and tribal organizations across the United States. She is fortunate to have represented Indian Country in a variety of capacities, first as in-house counsel for a tribe in the Pacific Northwest, then in Washington D.C. as Legislative Director for the Native American Contractors Association and as Counselor to the Chairwoman of the National Indian Gaming Commission under the Obama Administration. Now in private practice, Lael provides advice on tribal internal governance issues and economic development activities and provides strategic policy analysis on national tribal legislative and regulatory proposals. She is a Past-President of both the National Native American Bar Association and the Northwest Indian Bar Association and 2013 recipient of NCAIED‘s “40 Under 40”. When she is not at work, Lael enjoys singing karaoke with her siblings and spoiling her nieces and nephews.
